The group was established by the U. S. Army Materiel Command (USAMRMC) to determine and analyze the research areas of greatest need which would in turn advance the mission of better patient outcomes post traumatic brain injury—a problem of vital importance to the U.S. Department of Defense. The workgroup was led by and led by Dr. Ramon-Diaz Arristia of Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.  The full report is available as an open access document on the Journal of Neurotrauma website.
