Amery Treble-Barna, PhD, postdoctoral fellow in the Safar Center for Resuscitation Research T32 program, was awarded the University of Pittsburgh/UPMC Rehabilitation Institute Pilot Grant Funding award for her proposal entitled “Epigenetic influences on Long-Term Neurobehavioral Outcomes following Pediatric TBI”.

The grant will fund Dr. Treble-Barna’s ongoing study investigating the effects of childhood adversity and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) DNA methylation on longitudinal neurobehavioral recovery from traumatic brain injury sustained during childhood.
