Drs. Bell and Wisniewski Receive NIH Grant to Study Pediatric TBI

Safar Center associate director Michael Bell MD, and Steven Wisniewski, PhD, frequent Safar Center collaborator and senior associate dean at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health, have been selected to head a $16.5 million international five year study of pediatric traumatic brain injury (TBI) by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The goal of this unprecedented study is to better current clinical practices by providing evidence-based guideline recommendations that could have immediate impact on the treatment of injured children.
